Patrick J. Gentile founded Vamco Machine & Tool, Inc. in a small garage located just north of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Since its establishment in 1945, Vamco has served the metal stamping industry as a designer and manufacturer of high quality tools and dies. However, Vamco is most well known as the world leader in high-speed press feeding technology. After manufacturing tools and dies for many years, Vamco introduced its first press feeder in the late 1960's, the Changer Gear Cam Feed. Still in production today, this rugged and highly accurate machine has proven to be one of the finest inventions in the press feeding industry. As pressroom technology advanced, Vamco evolved as well introducing the world's first Adjustable Cam Feed. This machine was a unique technology patented by Vamco, which eliminated the amount of mechanical adjustments necessary to change the settings on the feed unit. After nearly 30 years of designing and manufacturing high-speed mechanical cam feeds, Vamco finally began the research and development in 1992 on a completely revolutionary product deemed the impossible: the world's first fully programmable high-speed electronic roll feed. Otherwise known as the Quantum, this highly advanced technology, completely engineered by Vamco has taken the expectations of the press feed to a new level. Engineered originally for the electric motor and transformer lamination industry, Vamco has since created an entire line of Quantum feeders serving both the high-speed electrical industry as well as the conventional metal stamping market. The Quantum is supported by the extensive Vamco facility in Pittsburgh's RIDC Industrial Park. Equipped with the most advanced precision machine tools and CNC production machines, the Quantum is manufactured in its entirety by Vamco. This state of the art facility is staffed by the top engineers in the pressroom equipment design field, and by fully qualified machine tool craftsman. They proudly adhere to strict quality control so that Vamco products can always be labeled as the finest in metal stamping.
