Standard and Optional Features |
|||
| Cast Frame Feeder Housing: The rigid, one-piece frame of Vamco CFS servo feeds ensures superior bore alignment and higher overall quality than a bolt together design. | ![]() Figure 1 |
||
| Unique Feed Roll Bearing Design: Sealed needle bearings are utilized to carry the high forces and cyclic loading associated with feed roll pressures and pneumatic roll release, while sealed ball bearings provide high thrust load capabilities. The combined utilization of both bearing types results in superior feed roll bearing life. | |||
| Smooth Ground Feed Rolls: Hardened to 60-62 Rc, precision ground rolls will not mark surface critical stock. | |||
| Fricton Finish Feed Rolls: Rough chrome finish provides extra feed roll grip for feeding slippery or extra heavy materials. | |||
| Exclusive "Anti-Slip" Drive Mechanism:
Vamco's Patented secondary roll drive system allows higher production speeds with lower
feedroll pressures than is possible with square or extended tooth gear drives. This
high-efficiency drive system provides zero backlash between the upper and lower feed
rolls, regardless of material thickness, and without manual adjustments. All
components of this precision drive mechanism run in a continuous oil bath. (See Figure 2) |

Kevlar Reinforced Drive Belt: All Vamco
CFS servo feeds utilize a Kevlar reinforced timing belt drive system. This system is
extremely accurate, will not stretch, requires no lubrication and has been engineered for
maximum feed capacity and performance. (See Figure 3) |
||
| Friction Locking Pulley Attachment:
Drive pulley are attached with friction locking devices which withstand the constant
torque reversal of feeding applications far better than keys and set screws. (See Figure 3) |
|||
| Patented Feed Roll Parallelism Adjustment Mechanism: Vamco
CFS servo feeds are equipped with a unique mechanism for adjusting parallelism between the
upper and lower feed rolls. This exclusive Vamco Feature is invaluable in preventing
material distortion or marking and for ensuring proper material tracking. (See Figure 4) |

||
| Solenoid Activated Pneumatic Roll Release: The fee rolls on CFS servos are electro-pneumatically released for pilot entry by a solenoid activated valve and air cylinder. This system is operable to 300 strokes per minute. | |||
| Vibration Dampener: A shock absorbing,
adjustable stroke limiter is provided on pneumatic roll lift models. This system
reduces the shock and vibration inherent to pneumatically operated roll lift system. with
a simple turn of a knob, the operator is able to adjust the amount of roll lift provided.
This user-friendly system is in stark contrast to the system employed by most feed
manufacturers; methods that include the shimming of air cylinders and wrench assisted
adjustments. No wrenches are required to adjust the roll lift on Vamco servo feeds.
(See Figure 5) |

Heavy-Duty Stock Guides: Correct alignment of the material to the die is accomplished through heavy-duty roller bearing edge guides. CFS servo feeds can be equipped with self-centering guide systems or with independently adjustable guide blocks. self-centering guide systems have built in offset adjustment for precise centerline positioning. | ||
| Upper/Lower Roller Guides: Roller guides positioned above and below the material help to protect the stock against scuffing. | |||
| Cascade Rolls: Vamco's cascade roll assembly is infinitely adjustable to support the incoming material without disturbing its natural curve. | |||
| Adjustable Mounting Bracket: Mounting brackets are designed to allow quick adjustment of the material passline height. | |||
| Custom Engineered Adapter Plate: To facilitate mounting the feed to the press with minimal customer effort, Vamco's customer designed adapters are tailored to use as many existing machined pads and bolt holes as possible in existing press surfaces. In most cases, this eliminates the need to drill and tap holes for feed mounting. (NOTE: Price to be quoted upon receipt of complete press information.) | |||
