How the Quantum Works

	The Quantum Electronic Feeding System Consists of Three Main Components:
Press Mounted Resolver: The resolver is a position sensing device used to read the press position and velocity so the Electronic Control Console knows exactly where the press is in its stroke. The resolver is mounted to the press crankshaft with a timing belt at a 1:1 ratio.
Servo Feed Mechanism: The Quantum Feed utilizes a high performance feed roll drive motor under computer control to coordinate the movement of the material with the up and down motion of the press. The industry's most efficient, zero backlash, feed roll drive mechanism is combined with precise, computer controlled regulation of the feed roll grip force, to effectively eliminate feed roll slippage. A computer controlled electro-mechanical roll lift actuator precisely coordinates the press position with the release of the feed rolls from the material to allow for pilot pin entry.
Electronic Control Console: The control console contains all of the electronics used to control the mechanical servo feed. It is also the main human interface. All programming and feed set-up is done from here. From this interface you can: Control the Feed Mode Program the Job (Part) Data Base Program the PLS (Programmable Limit Switch) Set-Up Feed Parameters Run Calibration and Diagnostic Routines
